The updated Google Fit app for the iPhone will now show workout routes
Google has just announced that it has updated its Google Fit with improved sleep insights and a dark theme.
The consumer-facing app for the company’s Google Fit health-tracking platform, the updated app now allows you to track your sleep patterns alongside other activities. It doesn’t natively track your sleep though — you still have to connect your favourite sleep app to Google Fit in order to see the charts. However, you can edit your sleep history through the app.
In keeping with the trend, the app has also gained a dark theme. The toggle for this can be found in the settings.
In April, Google brought Google Fit to iOS; since then, it has been trying to achieve feature parity between the two. Google Fit for iOS is also updated and now do route mapping for runs, hikes, and bike rides, which is something already possible on Android. For the uninitiated, Google Fit on iOS is able to integrate not just from Wear OS devices, but also Apple Health and Apple Watch.
The updated Google Fit app is now live on the Google Play store and Apple App Store.
